Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies are, which ones TaxSuite uses, and how you can manage your preferences.

Last updated: April 23, 2026

1

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in, your preferences, or your session state.

Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which store data in your browser locally without sending it to the server on every request. TaxSuite uses both cookies and browser storage to keep you logged in and maintain your application state.

Cookies can be “session cookies” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent cookies” (remain on your device until they expire or you delete them).

2

How We Use Cookies

TaxSuite uses cookies and browser storage to:

  • Keep you logged into your account between page loads and browser sessions
  • Protect your account from cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks
  • Remember your application preferences (such as your selected billing cycle on the pricing page)
  • Maintain the state of multi-step forms and data entry flows
  • Collect aggregated, anonymous analytics to understand how features are used
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity

We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or to build profiles for sale to third parties.

4

Third-Party Cookies

Some third-party services that TaxSuite integrates with may set their own cookies. We do not control third-party cookies and they are governed by the respective provider's cookie policy.

GitHub (OAuth only)Set during GitHub sign-in flow. Only present if you use GitHub login.docs.github.com/site-policy/privacy-policies

TaxSuite does not integrate advertising networks, tracking pixels, or any third-party cookie-based analytics (such as Google Analytics). We use only our own first-party analytics infrastructure.

5

Managing Your Preferences

You can manage cookies in the following ways:

  • In TaxSuite Settings: Navigate to Settings → Account → Privacy to opt out of analytics cookies. Note: strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled through this interface.
  • In your browser: All major browsers allow you to block, delete, or manage cookies through their privacy or security settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in.
  • Browser-specific instructions: Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies. Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security. Safari: Preferences → Privacy. Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

Deleting your browser cookies will log you out of TaxSuite. If you have “Remember me” enabled, you will need to log in again after clearing cookies.

6

Do Not Track

Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your activity tracked. Because there is no universally accepted standard for responding to DNT signals, TaxSuite does not currently respond to DNT signals differently from regular traffic.

If you want to limit analytics collection, use the opt-out in Settings → Account → Privacy, or block cookies at the browser level.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as we add new features or change our technical infrastructure. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

For material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
